Director’s Message

At Jyoban Hospital, the core hospital of the Tokiwakai Group, we have been improving our skills to provide cutting-edge urological care and treatment for kidney failure under the guidance of various doctors. Our endeavors have led to the achievement of robot surgery in urology and kidney transplantation. I feel proud that Jyoban Hospital has grown to be one of the Japan’s major medical institutions of urology and dialysis.

While it is important for the Tokiwakai Group to provide advanced medical care, given the aging of the population in recent years, I believe it is urgently necessary to establish a system known as comprehensive community care system: a system that links highly functional medical treatment, home medical treatment, and home care for the elderly. The Tokiwakai Group is currently in the process of creating a new organization to provide wide-range medical treatment and care services to meet the needs of the local community. To accomplish this goal, the following five are the top priority issues that Jyoban Hospital needs to address:

1) Establishment of wide-range of medical departments
2) Specialization in emergency medical care
3) Security of sufficient number of medical staff
4) Education of the medical staff
5) Improvement of the workplaces for the staff

Jyoban Hospital has seen a number of problems pointed out by the users. For example, outpatients need to wait for long for medical care, and some departments do not have high expertise. Many problems, we believe, are caused by the lack of medical staff including doctors and nurses. We also believe that an excellent staff at right positions can solve all the problems. To have sufficient doctors and other medical staff to provide advanced medical care, we prioritize to solve these issues.

We are taking efforts to secure the number of doctors using various networks to expand our specialized departments. In addition, we are making steady progress toward establishing substantial emergency care with the help of specialists. Furthermore, to secure medical staff, we are working to create an environment, wherein employees can work more comfortably. Childcare support is an example. Since I started working for the Tokiwakai Group, I have been inviting experts as advisers and instructors for each department for the enhancement of medical skills.

We have just started to take these first few steps, and the good results are yet to come. As the director of Jyoban Hospital, I will not slack off my pace toward the development of this hospital, so as to provide the best medical and nursing care in Iwaki City. I hope to have many opportunities to gain more experience and skills. Thank you for your continued support and kind cooperation.
